3 Ways To Jumpstart Your Weight Loss This New Year

According to a recent survey, weight loss is the number one New Year’s resolution of respondents, while exercise and healthy eating made it to the top 5 list.

It appears that health is the top priority of Americans in 2018, and if you made the same resolution last year but weren't able to keep your promise, don’t fret. You can start afresh and achieve your health goals by combining exercise and good eating habits. Here’s how to jumpstart your weight loss and feel good in the New Year.

1. Find Out Why You Really Want To Lose Weight

If you’re going to make certain changes to achieve a goal, you need to be honest with yourself and find out why you want to lose weight in the first place. Is it so that you can be more active? Do you want to be able to keep up with your kids? Are you tired of feeling sluggish and heavy? Keep your reasons in mind the next time you’re tempted to skip a workout or eat junk food. Better yet, write them down and display it in a prominent place in your home. After that, set a realistic goal for your weight loss and have a visible reminder of the fitness goals that you want to meet.

2. Eat The Right Food

If you’ve tried lots of fad diets but failed to lose weight, it’s likely that the wrong combination of foods can be the reason for your failure. By eating weight-loss friendly food such as protein, leafy greens, salmon, yoghurt, and whole grains, you can keep the pounds off and be at a healthy weight over time. Make sure to practice portion control and to use lean cooking methods such as poaching, boiling, or grilling so you won’t have to use fats or oils when preparing your meals. Consider replacing salt with spices and herbs to season and add flavour to your food in a healthier way.

3. Workout To Lose Weight

If you’re aiming to shed the pounds, you need to change the way you workout for maximum weight loss. One of the best—and easiest—ways to adjust your exercise routine is to add intervals. This means injecting a bit of extra effort into your regular workout routine. For example, if you take daily 30-minute walks, jog for 30 seconds every 5 minutes. Do strength training exercises at least 2 to 3 times a week as well as some body weight and core exercises for muscle strength and to tone your whole body.

Changing the way you eat, exercise, and knowing your reasons for losing weight can help you stick to your fitness goals this year. Follow these tips to jumpstart your weight loss and to feel great in 2018.edit: de
